Explanation
The proposed project is to design, produce and evaluate an online educational resource aimed at teaching students web-page design.
The project will be in three sections;
- Foundation webpage concepts.
- Page layout for the World Wide Web
- Web application programming.
1. Foundation webpage concepts. This section covers the theory and history of mark-up languages, and guides the student through designing, formatting and publishing a basic webpage. It also covers related computer and operating system concepts to endure students can save and load web-pages correctly.
2. Page layout for the World Wide Web. This section covers the use of Cascading Style Sheets (css) to format text and layout web pages.
3. Web application programming. This section introduces the PHP scripting language and the MYSQL database. It will also contain a section on the Flash Actionscript language.
As it is intended for use in NSW High Schools, the resource should address the appropriate outcomes as stated by the relevant syllabi, and provide programming and registration information for teachers.
